New publication based on the GENDERBALL project

The following paper based on the GENDERBALL project has just been published: Theunis, Lindsay, Inge Pasteels, and Jan Van Bavel. 2015. Parts of the GENDERBALL team just returned from a successful Population Association of America 2015 annual meeting. André Grow (first from left) presented the paper ‘The Reversal of the Gender Inequality in Education and Assortative Mating in Europe‘ and the poster ‘Past Trends and Future Scenarios in Educational Assortative Mating: An Agent-Based Modelling Approach‘ which has won a best poster award; Lindsay Theunis (second from left) presented a poster on ‘Educational Assortative Mating and Marital Stability: Adding a Contextual Dimension‘; Alessandra Trimarchi (fourth from left) talked about her paper ‘Education and the Transition to Fatherhood in Europe: The Role of Selection into Unions‘; Helga De Valk (second from right) presented a poster, among other things, about assortative mating and the transition to parenthood among ethnic minorities in Belgium; all these papers and posters are joint work with Jan Van Bavel (Principal Investigator, first from right), who presented a paper on the role of education in the mid-20th century baby boom.

Poster based on the GENDERBALL project wins award at PAA 2015

The poster “Past Trends and Future Scenarios in Educational Assortative Mating: An Agent-Based Modelling Approach” by André Grow and Jan Van Bavel has won a best poster award at the Population Association of America 2015 annual meeting. The poster is available here.
